Mr. Cox.

As I am going on leave on Wednesday night I am afraid that I may not see you before I return on September 16th.

You will see from 34 that Dr. Channon has agreed to be noted with Mr. Burney as having been prevented from continuing his membership of the Committee. See also two loose copies of the covering letter with the original signatures and noto to the offers.

The proof of the Committee's Report as corrected and returned to the printers is at 38A. I have purposely left the date as July merely and not added an actual day. Mr. Muston does not expect that the final copies will be available for about a week but I have asked Miss Whyte in my absence to keep in touch with him.

Another proof copy is on the main rile 54147 to- gether with a draft letter for the Secretary of State's signature to Mr. Bevin and a draft letter for his signature thanking the signatories of the Report other than the three who are members of the Office and the two who resigned. I understand that the Secretary of State is away until Monday and that he may wish to have some discussion on these drafts.
